It's Been a While!

Oh good day! It's been a while since I've been able to catch up with you all and I have some things to share. When I first started this blog, I wanted it to be more about vendors, and highlighting those who I preferred to work with, and posting tips on how to make weddings a success. Now that I've been in the game for a little over a year, I've decide that to make the most of this platform, I want to share it ALL! And by all, I don't mean all the wedding do's and don'ts, I plan on telling all the stuff that pertains to me, my business, my life, and my journey as a wedding planner. I can't promise to update every day, every week or even every month but I'll stop by when I can to post the up and up on what's going on here at Taylor'd Events.

My Life Personally

I can't lie, It's been a busy year for us so far. It's been a year of travel for me. For anyone who actually knows me, or has read the "about me" section of my website, wedding planning is a side hustle for me. My day job consists of coordinating coalition work and preventing youth substance abuse in my community, and it's been a busy year! This year alone, I've traveled to Chicago, Dallas (3 times), Orlando, and next up Washington D.C. in February. It seems as though since the world has opened back up my line of work said "Let's Go, we can breath later". My daughter started a new school this year, which was a very last minute change on the first week of school. My daughter went from a public school to a private school, and let me be the first to say, it was not an easy transition at all. My daughter is in the 6th grade and you would think "oh it's 6th grade, how hard can it be?" . Well it's now November and we are still struggling to keep up. I'm exhausted to be honest LOL.

My Business Now

I've been in business for over a year now and I can't believe I've done almost 10 weddings. To be honest in the beginning, I was completely stoked when that very first client booked me as their coordinator. I was like "OMG, they trust me" and to be honest, I absolutely killed it and I loved every single minute of it. I've learned so much in this past year about weddings, the different styles, the different personalities of couples and so much more. There is truly no greater education than experience alone. You never know more about something until you actually do it. I just got back from my first ever wedding conference, Wedding MBA, in Las Vegas, Nevada. I can't say that I learned a lot of information to share with brides, but I learned enough to know how I want to run my business from here on out. Over the past year and a half, I've worked with some amazing couples who have made an everlasting impression on me and my business. As we've come up on a few of those couples anniversaries, I am so excited and humbled to have been able to celebrate in their happiness together and get to witness true love (even when those couples didn't seem like they were in love thirty minutes before the ceremony start time LOL). I can't wait to see what the next year unfolds for me, my family, and my business.

Spotlight of the Week

Hi everyone! I wanted to use this blog as a way to help brides out when choosing vendors, as well as leave reviews for vendors and venues...
